[Γ]PAΦAC KV/[P]ⲰN MOI KⲰN/[CT]ANTINⲰ TZI/[MΠ]ЄA / ЄK TPOMAT/N PV૪ MЄ CV CT/[P]ATHΛATA ('Affirming what is written to me, Konstantinos Tzimpeas, you, General (Saint George), deliver me from harm') in six lines. A Konstantinos Tzimpeas is attested for the year 1279 as apographeus in Thessalonica. A relative of his, named Theodoros, is attested in 1304 as servant of the emperor. The family name may be connected to the fortress of Tzympe (Çimpe) on the Gallipoli peninsula.
